In this guide
DMLT course fees depend on the institution, admission category and year. A tuition figure, special-fee subtotal and full course cost are different amounts. Ask for all three before comparing government and private options.
An official government-college fee example
The Kerala 2026–27 diploma prospectus, printed page 32 / PDF page 34 lists the following special fees for allied-and-healthcare diploma courses in government colleges. DMLT appears among the diploma courses in the same prospectus. The table refers to the 2023 government order and says fees can be amended.
| Special-fee component | First year | Second year |
|---|---|---|
| Admission | ₹1,000 | — |
| Registration | ₹500 | — |
| Stationery | ₹1,500 | ₹1,500 |
| Laboratory | ₹3,000 | ₹2,000 |
| Library | ₹2,000 | ₹2,000 |
| Miscellaneous | ₹2,000 | ₹2,000 |
| Listed special-fee subtotal | ₹10,000 | ₹7,500 |
| Refundable caution deposit, separately listed | ₹1,000 | — |
These are not the full annual tuition or full course cost. The prospectus states that the special fees are additional to annual fees. The two special-fee subtotals sum to ₹17,500; adding the separately listed deposit produces ₹18,500 before annual tuition, other applicable charges and living expenses. This calculation is limited to these listed items.
Use the allotment and college fee notices to confirm the amount for your actual seat and payment stage. A refundable deposit still affects the cash you need at admission.
Government and private fees: compare the same things
The example above is a Kerala government-college schedule, not an India-wide government fee rate. Private institutions may publish different schedules by seat category, year and course. This guide does not have a verified private DMLT tuition comparison, so it does not invent a private fee range.
Ask each shortlisted institution for written amounts for annual tuition, special/mandatory fees, examinations, registration, deposits, training-period payments, hostel and other compulsory services. Confirm whether the schedule applies to the admission year and category you are considering.
What a full budget should include
- Tuition for every payable year or instalment.
- Additional recurring academic charges.
- One-off admission and registration payments.
- Refundable deposits, recorded separately.
- Examination and assessment charges not included elsewhere.
- Accommodation, transport and other living costs.
- Any payment required during clinical or practical training.
Avoid counting the same laboratory or registration charge twice when it is already inside an “other fees” total. Use our course-cost calculator to combine the written figures with your own monthly living budget.
Before paying
Verify the official payment recipient, amount due now, later instalments, refund policy and withdrawal conditions. Keep the prospectus, fee schedule and receipt. Ask for a written explanation if a charge cannot be found in the published schedule.
Use the DMLT course guide to check the qualification and training alongside cost. A lower price does not settle whether a program meets your intended job or further-study requirements.
